Hey dolls! You may have already seen this if you follow me on Instagram or snapchat, but I recently went and changed up my hair with a new lighter shade and an impromptu fringe. In my head I was going for 70’s Alexa Chung meets Cece from New Girl with a hint of Jameela Jamil thrown in for good measure, but actually it’s proving to be more a painful reminder of my awkward fringy teen days (no I will not share a picture!).
Still, I think I like it, and it’s nice to mix things up a bit every now and then. Plus I’m rediscovering my favourite hat again as the combination of hat and fringe feels very 70’s boho, which I still can’t get enough of!
I wore this look on the first day of a whistle-stop tour of Italy, starting in Venice for just one day. Although Venice is an undeniably stunning city, I find it leaves me cold. With socks and sandals tourists around every corner shoving to get the best picture spot on the Rialto Bridge, it’s hard to really enjoy the beauty of the place. That said, it is very insta-friendly!
I had decided to finally give in to the button up skirt trend with this cute white denim number from Missguided, which came in handy as it was pretty sweltering, especially coming from chilly London. Whenever I visit Italy I think I sub-consciously channel ‘La Dolce Vita’ with retro shapes like this Bardot top and cat-eye flicks. Admittedly I’ve never watched the film the whole way through, but the fashion is seriously chic!
Make sure you follow on snapchat (‘anoushkalila’) for more holiday explorations, fashion events and the occasional duck pout selfie! The rest of the week is going to be super hectic with some awesome gigs (hello Libertines!) and fun events in the run up to Fashion Week, and I’ll be documenting it all!
