Exploring East London: Blues Kitchen

Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch - Anoushka Probyn's London Diary

I ventured into Hipsterville (aka Shoreditch) recently for a vintage sale, and stumbled across the beautiful Blues Kitchen. There’s no end to the number of quirky themed restaurants with extortionate prices popping around all over London, but Blue’s Kitchen stood out with it’s shabby chic decor and bustling atmosphere.

I ordered pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, which is my favourite breakfast after a Full English (really just anything with bacon is up there on the breakfast scale). I went for a small portion as I had already had breakfast and was just being greedy, but it was still pretty huge. You definitely get your moneys worth, the milkshake I chose to accompany it (peanut butter and chocolate, always) was the size of a crate!

They have live music nights, so I definitely want to go back some time for an evening meal, dressed to the nines and pretending I’m on a boat chugging down the Bayou to New Orleans. Basically I want to be in ‘The Princess And The Frog’… a girl can dream!

Mmmmm those bacon/pancakes look delicious! Looks like a super fun place too. I like how they designed their menus. I’m a sucker for the little things in restaurants.
