First off, Merry Christmas!! Hope you’ve got lots of lovely presents and are indulging in far too many pigs in blankets!
Just a quick post, because I’ve got board games to play and champagne to drink. These photos are from a makeshift ‘Christmas Day’ my friends and I held a few days back to get into the festive spirit. Christmas in London is such a treat, from the dozens of Christmas markets that pop up over the period, to the exciting events, fancy foods, and indulgent spiced drinks (any excuse for a drink!).
We started the day at Harrods, amongst the hustle and bustle of harassed shoppers and wide-eyed tourists. Harrods is pretty magical on a standard day (hello, they have a toy KINGDOM), but at Christmas its bedecked in lights and top notch decor (none of that pound store tinsel, this is Harrods darling), with a specialist Christmas store and a Santa’s grotto which we’re unfortunately a tad old for.
After sufficient drooling in the food hall, and lusting after Gucci knits on the superbrand floor, we headed on to Winter Wonderland down the road in Hyde Park to feast on bratwurst and mulled wine. Though the rides look fun they’re stupidly expensive so we nixed them in favour of Cider and cheesy music (pretty much Queen’s entire repertoire) in the Bavarian Village, home to what seemed like every stag do in London, complete with novelty jumpers and drunken chants.
My gang, aren’t they cuties?
(They’re probably reading this, so I have to be nice)
Our Christmas meal took place at Bill’s in Covent Garden, where we exchanged secret santa gifts (I got a selfie stick and a book of drinking games, so look out for improved selfie game and increased overall drunkenness!). Although usually Bill’s does decent food, we were actually quite disappointed this time around. The meat was dry and the service slow, I definitely wouldn’t recommend for Christmas!
How are you spending the festive period? We’ve got board games, alcohol and mince pies aplenty here in the Probyn household, so it’s sure to be a cracker (gettit?)! Wishing you and your family a lovely Christmas and New Year!
Merry Christmas, Anoushka! x lovely pictures

Oh my gosh, these PHOTOS. My friends and I had a makeshift Christmas celebration a week before the day, too, and it was so fun, though it didn’t nearly look as pretty as yours did, ha. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, Anoushka!
