There’s an unwritten rule that each new Winter season must be seen in with the purchase of a cosy new knit, because how else are you going to get pumped about the plummeting temperatures? I’m loving basic neutral hues and blush tones that put the focus on luxe fabrics and cosy silhouettes – Missguided have some fab options and Boden are heading the pack when it comes to staple pieces.
When is velvet not in fashion come Autumn/Winter? The party-perfect staple has upgraded from the classic LBD to pretty much anything; trousers, boots, you name it, it probably comes in velvet. I can never resist a statement pair of boots so my top pick is a snazzy pair in coloured velvet as an easy nod to the trend.
Anything lacy, satiny, and all round pretty, and I’m in love. Underwear as outerwear doesn’t seem to be going anywhere as a trend, and barely there lingerie has been seriously upgraded in all sorts of intricate patterns and styles this AW. Whether you’re dressing for the boudoir or styling up the trend for a night out, it’s seriously chic (with more than a hint of sexy!).
Which is your favourite trend this season? What are the big Autumn Winter buys you’re looking to invest in?
Amazing post!

I absolutely fell in love with all your picks! It makes me want to buy every single thing, but as you said, that would take all shorts of loans. I just wish there existed more cute clothes for freezing cold weather. I am traveling next month to places where the temperature drops so much… I don’t even know what I’m supposed to wear to stay warm and look cute. Any suggestions?

Ooh exciting, where are you going? I stick to basics like trusty black boots and cosy cable knit jumpers, then jazz up the look with a statement coat, scarf or hat which’ll keep you warm while looking chic :)
