I’m no beauty buff but I’ve gotten so many exciting new bits in recently I couldn’t resist sharing them with you all. My beauty regime is pretty much non-existent, consisting solely of those cucumber makeup remover wipes that are always 3 for 2 at Boots and that’s about it. But in an effort to be better at life I’m upping my skincare game with a few handy products from Prismologie and Sk:n. I’ve also recently joined the smoky eye club thanks to Urban Decay. Their naked range is aptly titled as I now feel just that without generous sweeps of eyeshadow to make me look fiiieerce.
Prismologie’s beauty range piqued my interest as the concept revolves around colour therapy and how it relates to moods, with gemstone crystals thrown in for good measure. It’s unique in that you can choose your skincare based around your mood – for example red for an uplifting start to the day, or green for serenity. I was instantly drawn to the ‘White Beginning’ line which contains neroli and diamond. My favourite is the body cream; it smells divine and feels such a treat (smearing diamonds on yourself, how extravagant!). The packaging adds to the sense of luxury; the products are beautifully presented in a spectrum of colors and sleek design. They’re pretty lush, if I’d known skincare could feel so decadent I would’ve gotten involved sooner!
I wasn’t aware of the cult of Urban Decay’s Naked palettes until a friend came round and immediately started cooing over them. After trying them, I can see why. I’ve been playing around with these to achieve different looks – my favourite game is to see if I can use every colour in a palette in one look! I love that you can layer these up for a striking evening look, or keep it simple with matt base shades. The only drawback is that the powder gets everywhere, so definitely do your foundation last or you’ll end up with streaks. The mascara is also a revelation; I’ve now got bottom lashes I never knew existed!
As the Uk’s leading skin clinic, the Sk:n products sure have a big image to live up to. I’ve been using the exfoliator for a few days now and my skin is definitely feeling smoother and softer, whilst I’m loving the anti-blemish lotion which soaks in fast and leaves no trace so is easy to apply under makeup. The hand cream is probably my favourite though, it smells yummy and is a great size to pop in my handbag for top ups!
What are your beauty faves? Do you have any recommendations for a novice like myself?
