London at Spring is an Instagrammers paradise, awash in a sea of pink blooms as cherry blossom season makes its way to the city. The seasonal flora can be elusive so I thought I'd compile a list of the best cherry blossom Instagram locations in London for your snapping pleasure. You'll usually find it blooming from about mid-March to early April.
Notting Hill is a pretty Instagram-friendly (well not the residents, but we'll skate over that!) neighbourhood all year round, but in Spring it becomes particularly photogenic as blooms take over the area. London's parks are also given a Spring makeover with some very aesthetic cherry blossom lined avenues. I've also shared a few other London spots that get the floral treatment this time of year.
As well as cherry blossom I've chucked in a couple of magnolia and other Spring blooms you'll find flowering around the same time, for maximum Instagram goodness! Don't say I don't spoil ya.
Cherry Blossom Instagram Locations in Notting Hill
Come Spring Notting Hill becomes influencer Mecca thanks to the plethora of flora in bloom across the neighbourhood. There's a number of popular Instagram locations, but take your time to get lost wandering the streets and you just might find a hidden gem. I've covered a few of the main spots, but there's so much more to discover!
Shooting in Notting Hill has become a touchy subject in recent months thanks to the partially justified backlash from residents at influencers clogging up their doorsteps. Therefore please do remember to be mindful of residents, not trespassing on property, keeping voices down and not blocking the pavement.
My favourite cherry blossom locations in the area include along Kensington Park Gardens (above), Portobello Road (below), Landsdowne Road and Pembridge Square. Make a day of it and roam the streets to find plenty more picture perfect Spring blooms towards Ladbroke Grove and Holland Park.
Cherry Blossom Instagram Locations in London Parks
Ravenscourt Park
One of London's lesser known parks becomes an Instagram paradise come March when a row of cherry blossom blooms. It's a bit of a way out in West London, but take the Piccadilly Line to the eponymous train station and the park is a short walk away. Because it's less known and a bit less convenient, you don't have to worry about fighting with hoards of fellow photographers!
Regent's Park
One of my favourite London parks year, round, Regent's Park (left) is especially pretty in Spring when the blooms, well, bloom. This particular spot isn't too far from the station, and makes for a really special cherry blossom sighting. It's a popular park, so expect crowds (and squirrels!).
Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park (right) may well be home to London's most famous line of cherry blossom trees, which have graced many a feed over the years. The bold pink blooms are a really unique sight - you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd been transported to Japan for sakura season! They can be found not far from the parking at the top of the hill, and get very busy so aim for an early start!
Other London Cherry Blossom Instagram Locations
Chelsea, West London
It doesn't get quite as dramatic a Spring makeover as neighbouring Notting Hill, but Chelsea still puts on a good show. This particular location for magnolia spotting is Bramerton Street, not far from Instagram hot spots Peggy Porschen and The Ivy Chelsea. Magnolia usually blooms just before cherry blossom in early March, and doesn't last long so be quick!
London Bridge
The London Bridge area (left) isn't exactly known for attracting flocks of Instagrammers, but it does have a secret. Come Spring, Tower Bridge Road is host to a smattering of cherry blossom, perfectly placed around a classic red London phone booth. It's like they designed it purposely for Instagram!
South Kensington
Kensington (right), doesn't tend to get much cherry blossom, but it makes up for it with plenty of magnolia trees. Head down Thurloe Street and explore the surrounding area for some good spots, such as this on Egerton Terrace.
