Welcome to Asia

Asia is a place that defies simple description—a continent so vast and varied that it feels like an entire world in itself. From the glittering skylines of Tokyo and Hong Kong to the serene backwaters of Kerala and the ancient temples of Cambodia, Asia is rich in awe-inspiring nature, culture, and heritage. It’s a land where tradition and modernity coexist effortlessly: where centuries-old rituals unfold in the shadow of towering skyscrapers, and where untouched nature meets the buzz of dynamic cities.

What draws me to Asia isn’t just its diverse beauty or rich history—it’s the feeling that every step offers something unexpected. From manoeuvring the thronging streets of Jaipur, to communicating with hand gestures in a rural Chinese village, it offers plenty of challenges for seasoned travellers. But if you can navigate those challenges, you'll be richly rewarded.

Asia is possibly my favourite continent to explore, for so many reasons. So many, in fact, that you can find them listed below. In terms of features, it's currently focussed on my most traversed destinations, India and Thailand. Being half Indian, it's a country I've visited countless times, and would like to think I know fairly well at this point. That said, there's still so much to explore! However, it's not the easiest country to visit so requires some advance preparation. If you're planning a trip, start with my tips for exploring India, then delve into the sights of Rajasthan and Kerala.

Thailand is one of those countries it's impossible not to fall in love with. The cuisine, the ancient sights, the vibrant buzz of Bangkok, the stunning paradise Islands.... convinced yet?

As I'm writing this, I'm also a week off an epic Asia trip. We're spending 2025 travelling from West to East, starting in India and finishing up somewhere around The Philippines. I'm planning to update this space regularly as we go, so keep checking back for more guides and practical travel tips. Oh, and DM me on Instagram if there's anything in particular you'd like to see or know!

P.S. This hub focuses on South and South East Asia, if you're looking for the Middle East, check here for all my Middle East travel guides.

5 Reasons to Visit

Asia

01. The Food

Asian cuisine is the best, fact. Creamy Indian dhals, rich Thai green curries, warming bowls of Japanese noodles and overflowing Vietnamese banh mi's - what's not to love?

02. The Culture

Every continent has it's own unique cultures, but Asia is easily one of the most varied and culture rich. It's rife with tales of drama and intrigue dating back centuries, which can be explored through countless temples, palaces, and many other incredible sights.

03. The Nature

Looking for paradise beaches and remote Islands? Check. Dense jungles and palm tree lined backwaters? Check. How about jaw-dropping mountain ranges and lakes? Check check check.

04. The Cities

I've always said if I left London I would move to Asia. Asian Capital cities are so dynamic, there's always so much going on and such a vibrancy to them. From bar hopping in Bangkok to browsing markets in Hong Kong and tucking into curries in Mumbai, many of my favourite cities in the world are in Asia.

05. The People

Asian hospitality is hard to beat. Everyone is so kind, friendly, and welcoming, it's truly rare to have a bad experience with the locals.
